Ruth I.  Snow (Long)
Ruth I. Snow, 97, of Clinton, Missouri, formerly of Urich, Mo., died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton.

She was born November 23, 1913 in the White Oak area of Henry County, Mo., the daughter of Stevie Long and Ola Ethel (Caldwell) Long. Ruth was united in marriage to Merle Dale Snow on February 26, 1939, in Warsaw, Mo. Together they owned and operated the Snow Funeral Home in Urich, Mo., from 1963 to 1983. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1991.

Ruth was a member of the Evangel Presbyterian Church in Urich, Mo., where she served as the church treasurer and was an elder. She formerly attended the White Oak Methodist Church in Urich, Mo. She was also a member of the Grand River Parish Council, the Urich Interchurch Coordinating Council, the Ecuminical Women, and the Reading Club of Urich. She also served as the Urich Township Tax Collector. Prior to moving to Urich, Ruth lived in Pittsburg, Kansas, where she was very active serving the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of Pittsburg, Ks.

Surviving are a son, Charles E. "Gene" Snow and his wife Janis, Columbia, Mo; two daughters, JoAnn Steimer, Scottsdale, Arizona, and Joyce Cunningham and her husband Gary, Pittsburg, Ks.; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne Long, Cheyenne, Wyoming; a sister-in-law, Maurita Carter, Clinton, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Robert Moore, Clinton, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; a son Dean Snow, who died March 29, 2008; three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011, at the Evangel Presbyterian Church, 306 North Maple, Urich, Mo. Burial will be in the Urich Cemetery, Urich, Mo. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton, where friends may call after Noon Wednesday. The family suggests contributions to the Evangel Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice and may be left in care of the funeral home.
